This last week I have accomplished a lot! Ok...the first part was not productive because of being sick (nausea med hangover) but I certainly made up for those days. Wednesday we had a interview/meeting with the school where we could possibly send our DAUGHTERS! I freaked out thinking that next year we could possibly send TWO children to school. I mean, our oldest will definitely go but I was not prepared for that fact that the sweet girl we brought home from the hospital who is only 4 could go next year. Our son, just that morning, had placed his backpack on to go to the sitters, and I nearly started crying! To think that Kayleigh could go to school next year about makes me want to out and out cry!
So I asked if I could be a helper. No problem in that ~ right? (My hubby told me it was time to start cutting those apron strings...psshaw!) At least I got the green light from the individual we were talking with from the school. (Back flip from mama with a HUGE high-five!) Of course, letting our little girl know that she could go to school possibly next year brought a HUGE smile from her. *SIGH*
So after the interview my hubby and I ate lunch together...aww! Yeah, okay... um it was McDonald's but hey it was TOGETHER! It is funny that I know what he is going to eat everytime and everytime he knows the same about me. Love unspoken with time woven into the midst. :)
Of course I could not resist to visit the shoppes close by so Osh Kosh got a nice lil' visist from me. The girls are now wearing the same thing so I hear nothing of complaint or longing. Saves on the Tylenol and the wallet in the long run! It was such a beautiful day so that made it even better!
Later that day after supper, feeding/watering the dog, playing with the dog(Max), and you know ...cleaning, we went to the library. I wanted to test the children and myself. No, I am not crazy!! The last time we went the librarian told me that my daughter just pushed all the books off the bottom half of two shelves. Uh, um okay, thanks?!? The frustrating part is she just looked at me the entire time I picked them up. This time though it was actually fun. There was a coloring station and a play area so the smaller ones had a lot of fun with those playful activities.
Next let's tackle the grocery store! Again, taking all of my children with was not high on my priority list but engaging them in the whole shopping was easier. I would tell them what to look for and when they found it they would be able to put it in the cart. It was encouraging to me to hear Kayleigh say as well what she learned from her homeschool class what was healthy and not healthy! Too cute what little ones say. :)
Pop in a library movie when we get home, have a snack and wa-la ~ it's suddenly bedtime! I took that time to plan meals for the next month since I had just gone shopping. I don't prepare the meals all at once but just write out the meals that can be made on certain days. It is so nice to look at the calender and know what I am making for that day (or week). I cannot take credit for this idea though, since my Mother-in-law gave me this idea. I also took the time to work on our budget using Budget Simple http://www.budgetsimple.com/
I like it for it's simplicity. You can upgrade it for a yearly fee but the free online program is great as well.
I want to leave you all with this verse from Romans 12:10
"LOVE each other with GENUINE AFFECTION, and take DELIGHT in HONORING each other."
This is the verse that is written on our chalkboard cabinet and I need to be reminded of that daily. May it bless you today!
