Roots

I read these two statement today as I was holding the baby and marveled at the timing!

Peace comes not from the absence of conflict in life but from the ability to cope with it. ~ Anonymous

Lord, when I don't understand why something is happening help my faith in You to give me peace through the conflict.

You see, I was allowing bitterness and anger to overtake me. At church yesterday, during our worship time, I could think of the person that entered our home and became so angry that I got mad at the song and just stopped singing. We were singing about Jesus being our Redeemer, Restorer, Healer and, quite frankly, I did not want to see this individual happy. I wanted this person(s) to suffer but where in our Jesus' compassion does that rank? Humbly I was reminded that Jesus created ALL, not just those who I think deserve it but everyone who desires to know Him.

Grace. What a wonderful concept!

Jesus ~ my prayer this week is to be reminded that You dwell in all hearts. In my own heart I ask that you water it with compassion, not anger. That Jesus, I be able to understand that You love the broken-hearted and care with a depth of love that surpasses my understanding. Help me to see without blinders and not be judgmental.
